At Revitalize the Block, we don’t believe in generic playbooks. We’re building something different. Our work is about community ownership, economic justice, and unapologetic restoration—and that includes the way we teach, speak, and share stories.

We treat education like infrastructure. When done right, it shifts power, grows vision, and equips people to lead from where they stand. Through training, consulting, and media, we’re helping communities write a new story about what’s possible.

What We Offer

Workforce and Leadership Development

We are developing a place-based academy that will prepare justice-impacted and under-resourced communities for careers in construction, real estate, entrepreneurship, and neighborhood development. This won’t be a one-size-fits-all approach. It will reflect the lived experience of our people, the pace of real life, and the demand for real access.

Participants will build technical skills, but also gain the leadership tools to own and shape the spaces around them. This work is about more than getting a job. It’s about building legacies.

Consulting, Speaking, and Community-Based Workshops

We support cities, grassroots groups, and coalitions who are serious about community-centered change. That includes:

• Speaking at summits, panels, and public forums

• Facilitating local workshops on economic mobility, equity, and land stewardship

• Consulting on leadership development and community capacity building

We don’t just come in and talk. We listen, we build, and we leave people with something they can use.

The story of the block has always been told by people on the outside. We’re reclaiming that narrative through:

• A forthcoming podcast lifting up voices from the neighborhoods doing the work

• Short-form digital content that speaks to the truth and complexity of equitable development

• A future library of tools, guides, and media for communities looking to revitalize their own blocks

We’re also developing an e-commerce space with culturally grounded educational tools and materials. Every piece will be made with care, and with purpose.
